Self-Doubt is a Result of Reactive Thinking not Logical Thinking
Read that title again because, wow, when I read that is blew my mind.
Self-doubt is a result of reactive thinking, not logical thinking.
Incredible, let's break it down and talk about it.
Reactive thinking is the tendency to respond to situations impulsively and emotionally, without much forethought or planning, essentially reacting to events as they happen rather than proactively anticipating and preparing for them. It is the primary thought process being based off reaction.
Logical thinking is the ability to analyze a situation, consider facts and evidence objectively, and arrive at a sensible conclusion by using reasoning skills, essentially making decisions based on logic rather than emotions or biases. It is the primary thought process being based off reason.
And self-doubt is a lack of faith in oneself, a feeling of doubt or uncertainty about one's abilities, actions, etc. We all know what it is because we all go through it.
So... self-doubt is the result of thinking based off reactions and not reason.
I love this because when we are going through challenges and feel the reactive frustration, disappointment, anger, etc... it all fuels self-doubt. However, when thinking reasonably, we know there is always a solution. We can practice, ask for help, change our process, whatever.
So there is no reason to have self-doubt if we are thinking with logic, as logic always presents a solution. Self-doubt is a product of reactive thinking.
