Gratitude as a Motivating Baseline

It’s only 7 am and I already see a theme happening today, and it’s about gratitude.

Being grateful for what we have as all things are temporary. Using gratitude as a motivating force to keep the abundance flowing. Making sure to have gratefulness as an underlying baseline of mindfulness.

Being mindful isn’t an automatic cure-all. It needs to have a positive intention to it. I have met many people who were mindfully aware of their suffering. Every moment they looked for something to complain about or to use as an excuse, it was as if their subconscious intention was to make sure they would not be happy.

We talk so much about using Realistic Intentionality to get the life you want, but it should also be applied to being grateful for the life you already have. And this does not mean to be complacent, as even if you have a seemingly perfect life, there should always be a pursuit of passion in some form.

By being grateful for what you have, you are aligning with the concept of your already existing abundance. You are finding contentment in the success and positivity in your life already. This sets your mindset with prosperity, luck, and wealth. Being able to be mindful with this particular mindset allows for decision making to come from awareness of contentment and empowerment rather than something less than ideal, like scarcity or desperation.

When operating out of fear, decisions are made to reduce harm. Scarcity and desperation will cause decisions to be made that don’t necessarily help you thrive, but rather get by.

Gratefulness is an incredible anchoring practice to ensure that the tone of your mindfulness is geared towards growth and the capacity to thrive. Thus, your decision making will be empowered and the gratitude will motivate your intentional action.

Even if you are in low or dark place, there are things to be grateful for. I wrote a blog post about finding gratitude here so I highly recommend reading that if you want to dive deeper in the world of thankfulness.
