An exercise to reflect on this past year
With it being the last day of 2024, it seems only appropriate to discuss reflection. The act of looking back in the past and contemplating the nature of it all can be super beneficial in realigning for the coming year.
Whether a year of constant struggle or incredible joy, without a doubt, it offers powerful insights to where you are as a person and how your life is established.
Here are some questions that may help you consider what should be left behind and what should be continued.
- What are some things that you enjoyed?
- What are some things that you did not enjoy?
- What hurt you the most?
- What inspired you the most?
- What is an obstacle you overcame and how did you?
- Who brought positivity into your life?
- Who brought negativity?
- In what ways did you improve?
- In what ways did you regress?
- What are the habits that you are happy you developed?
- What are the ones that you regret developing?
- What beneficial lessons have you learned?
- What inspired ideas have you had?
- What are some goals you achieved?
- What are some goals you did not accomplish?
- What do you want to bring into 2025?
- What do you want to leave in 2024?
The more deeply you consider each question, the more insights you will get. I truly recommend journaling these down, but do whatever works for you.
Use this to figure out where you are at today, and how you may want to improve this year. Tomorrow is a brand new day, a brand new year, what a beautiful chance to be the person you want to be.
