Acknowledging Neurodivergent and Differently-Abled People

Though a lot of my language expresses that things can be “simple”, I do not mean that they are simple tasks to accomplish by any means. It’s just the fact of them are simple.

You want to have a clean house - the simple truth is that you either need to clean it or hire someone to clean it for you. The process may not be easy, but the fact of the matter is.

I don’t want to ever exclude those with disabilities or neurodivergence as those things can completely alter the ability or nature of applying Realistic Intentionality.

Realistic means something different for everyone. It’s for the individual to define.

That is why I’ll never tell someone exactly what they should do for their ideal life. They must curate their journey themselves as they know their own psychology and ability.

Throughout the decade of studying, I met many “spiritual teachers” who insisted people had to obey their course or practice precisely as it worked for them. And for years I watched myself and others fail or even worse, get scammed for more and more money with no success.

A person with ADHD is not going to think and operate the same as someone with a chronic illness. Someone with limited physical ability can’t have the same plan as someone with OCD.

But, all those people can benefit from mindful intention. They can tune into themselves to the best of their ability and set intentions within their means.

I have obsessive compulsive thinking which makes it very difficult for me to stop a project half way through. I have to orient my schedule to accommodate that - I need massive chunks of time to paint or do a renovation around the house. While others may benefit from piecing those projects over the course of days or weeks.

If you are unsure how to set your goals and path based around your circumstances, mindfulness will show you the way. Be mindful of what works and what doesn’t. There is no rush in self-work. Overtime, through trial and error you will find success as long as you stay tuned in and motivated to find your own definition of success.
