It’s Okay to Lose Drive Sometimes

It is totally normal and okay to lose motivation and drive when working on changing your whole life.

I’ve been facing a bit of it myself.

Perhaps it’s a 3 month slump, or it’s the fact that so much has changed in terms of daily routine that it’s tiring.

I started this platform in December and have worked on it everyday for three months. As well as implementing the Realistic Intentionality practice to work out, learn Spanish, and heal all aspects of my life. Not to mention, I’ve started working on my book which I’m really passionate about.  It’s a lot, and I can feel myself losing motivation to wake up early, work out and do all I need to do.

I think acknowledging the slowing down is key. It’s okay to lose drive. It’s about progress not perfection. Take time to sit back and adjust the pace.

In previous blog posts, I said it’s important to fine tune and make adjustments to your daily routine as needed. So, obviously, I need to do that myself. We want to avoid burn out or crashing out completely so it’s important to listen to our body.

I know for me, the podcast is the most difficult and stressful part of my routine. Trying to organize guests, maintain the studio, and doing hefty edits every week has lost its appeal. Though it’s disappointing as the podcast is the part of my platform that has the furthest reach, I have to listen to my inner guide. So, I believe I will do one more episode, call it a season, and take a month long break to recover and catch up.

It’s not giving up, but readjusting. The reality is, writing my book is a temporary work load that is a priority and there simply isn’t enough time to get it done in a timely fashion unless I drop the most time consuming thing. But, once the bulk of the book work (the writing) is complete, I will have that time again to pick up for Season 2 of the Pod.

Also there are tons of benefits such as allowing people to catch up on watching the podcast, being able to market the already existing episodes, catching up on recordings.

Part of me felt resistance to stop, the ego part that feared losing steam, but my inner knowing understands the book and my mental load take priority.

So, if you too are feeling like you are losing momentum, take a moment to rest and readjust. ONLY a moment. Rearrange your goals and your daily routine. Take this as an indication it’s time to fine-tune, a part of the process we’ve known would occur since the beginning.

You’re doing great.
